Dynasty WR Rankings 1 - 10

1. Larry Fitzgerald - Age 25
Fitzgerald is 25 years old and by far and away the best reciever in the league.  His work ethic and strong supporting class makes him a no brainer here.

2. Andre Johnson - Age 28
Johnson had a overlooked monster season in 2008 and I believe he will top his numbers in 2009.  Houston is improving and he is in his prime.

3. Calvin Johnson - Age 23
2008 stats: 1331 yds and 12 TD's and that was with a mix of mediocre at best QB's.  While Stafford is a rookie this year and might struggle a bit, his addition will be an assett to Johnson's value in the future.  He is only 23 and has huge upside.

4. Greg Jennings - Age 25
Jennings keeps improving and could become a long time outstanding tandem with Aaron Rodgers.  He has a great work ethic and seems to want to improve himself.  At 25 years old he is ready to make the leap into the top tier.

5. Roddy White - Age 27
Roddy White backed up his good 2007 season with another stellar one in 2008.  For that he lands in the top five.  He has the talent and is paired with Matt Ryan which makes for a great situation for a good reciever.

6. Reggie Wayne - Age 30
Wayne dropped off a bit in 2008, but will rebound this year and still has some good years in front of him.  That he has one of the all-time greats throwing him the ball doesn't hurt.

7. Marques Colston - Age 26
Colston is helped by the situation he is in.  He is Brees' favorite target and is looked to frequently in the red zone.  He sufferred through knee injuries last year and did not produce as expected.  He is in position to rebound this year as he will see many targets all over the field.

8. Randy Moss - Age 32
Moss is getting up there in age but his upside for the next two or three years with Brady under center makes me put him here at eight.  Just know he will not be producing more than a few more years.

9. Anquan Boldin - Age 28
Boldin took a brutal hit last year that cost him some time and yet still put up good numbers (1038 yds, 11 TD's).  He is helped this year by staying in Az and playing opposite of Fitzgerald.  What the future holds for him is uncertain, but his talent alone is deserving of a top ten spot.

10. Steve Smith - Age 30
Smith is 30 years old but so was Randy Moss for his incredible 2007 season.  Smith is a top talent and is hindered by Delhomme and the Panthers run first philosophy.  If Smith can stay healthy he should still produce 1200 yard seasons with double digit touchdowns.  Well worth a top ten spot.

RB Dynasty Rankings 1 - 10

1. Adrian Peterson - Age 24
The best runningback in the league and he is only 24, do I need to say more?  Peterson can make any run and plays on a superbowl caliber team.  He has a history of injuries but his upside is way to high for him not to be the number one overall pick.

2. Maurice Jones-Drew - Age 24
Jones-Drew is 24 years old and has already proven himself as a top all around back.  This year he gets the chance to be THE back in Jacksonville and is destined for a big year.

3. Matt Forte - Age 23
I passed on Forte last year in my league and while I am not sold just yet, he is a good fit here at number three.  He has no competition for carries in Chicago and catches the ball well.  If you are looking for a good, young, all around back then it seems Forte is it.

4. DeAngelo Williams - Age 26

In talent alone I would rank Williams number two behing AP. However, he has Jonathon Stewert behind him and is going to splitt carries. Williams has averaged 5.1 yrds per carry over his career and should get enough touches to be a consistent top back. Recent Stewert injuries have made Williams 2009 season outlook look even better.

5. Michael Turner - Age 27

Turner is older than most up here on this list but has similar wear. He has enormous talent and showed he can run between the tackles and still turn the corner. Atlanta will continue to ride turner early and often. If he holds up he is in line for three or four more top 5 years.

6. Chris Johnson - Age 23
Johnson is coming off a great rookie season and will most likely get more touches this season.  If his sophmore year is as good as his rookie one, he will climb up this list very quickly.

7. Frank Gore - Age 26
Gore has established himself as a top runningback.  However, the 19ers offense has continually struggled and so Gore slips out of the top five and lands here at number seven.  He will see many eight man fronts but will still put up good numbers.

8. Steven Jackson - Age 26
Steven Jackson has had some injury concerns over the past two years and has still put up decent numbers.  Jackson is a high risk - high reward pick.  He could put up great numbers, or continue to struggle with injuries and playing for a poor team.  If healthy he will get the ball a lot as he catches the ball extremely well.

9. Marshawn Lynch - Age 23
Lynch is very young at 23 and has produced well even facing mostly eight man fronts.  Trent Edwards should continue to progress and make teams respect the pass.  Reminder that Lynch will start the season serving a suspension but has tremendous upside.  If he stays out of trouble he should be a top ten back or higher for many years to come.

10. Steve Slaton - Age 23
This was a tough one for me.  Recent news suggests that slaton might lose out on goalline touches this year.  Still Slaton has tremendous upside as a young, talented back, coming off a surprisingly strong rookie year.  If this team makes the leap this year like I am projecting, then this ranking will pay off.

QB Dynasty Rankings 1- 10

1. Drew Brees - Age 30
Brees is coming off a monster year and shows no signs that he will not put up similar numbers again.  At age 30 he is in his prime and has played everygame for the last four years.  He is as consistent and as good as they come.  A clear number one QB.

2. Tom Brady - Age 32
Brady gets ranked below Brees for a couple reasons.  He is two years older, he is coming off major knee surgery that cost him his season in 2008, and besides his 2007 record setting year he has not put up the monster numbers that Brees has.  Do not get me wrong, I think Brady is very consistent and very deserving of the number two spot on this list, he just cannot compete with Brees at this moment.
3. Peyton Manning - Age 33
Manning is Mr. Consistency.  Played in everygame since he was drafted and always puts up big numbers regardless of the team around him.  Even at the age of 33, Manning should still have five more years of top 5 numbers which puts him at number three on this list.

4. Aaron Rodgers - Age 25
If you are going the way of youth, Rodgers is your guy.  Even on a team that struggled he put up great fantasy numbers and showed the poise and leadership that tells you he will be a great quarterback for years to come.

5. Phillip Rivers - Age 27
One of the most overlooked players in the NFL.  Rivers had a monster year last year.  While I do not think he can put up those numbers every single year, be confident that he will produce QB1 numbers for many years to come.

6. Matt Ryan - Age 24
Ryan is only 24 years old and already has won over respect from almost everyone.  He stepped into a situation where many good young quarterbacks would have struggled and had a very good year.  The sky is the limit for this 24 year old.

7. Jay Cutler - Age 26
Cutler's value dropped when this strong armed quarterback found a new team this summer.  There is little doubt that he can throw the ball, but I remain skeptical of Cutler as the overall quarterback.  He fits in nice here at number seven.  His physical talent is as good as it comes, but he has some obstacles to overcome.

8. Tony Romo - Age 29
This is where the quarterback rankings start to be strongly debated.  Romo has consistently shown he is a good fantasy quarterback.  Even with T.O. leaving Romo still has an above average supporting cast.  I have confidence Romo can be a top ten quarterback for many years to come.

9. Matt Schaub - Age 28
Schaub is entering the prime of his career and plays on a team that is exploding with talent.  I believe this is the year Houston makes a leap and Schaub becomes a top ten QB.  Injuries are a concern, however each of his injuries the past couple years have come as a result of a hit which was disciplined by the NFL.  If he can avoid the "cheap shots" this year it will be a great year.

10. Ben Roethlisberger - Age 27
Roethlisberger is 27 years old and has two Superbowl rings on his hand.  Of course you do not get fantasy points for rings.  There is little doubt Roethlisberger is a top QB, but he has only topped 19 TD's once as a pro and plays on a run first team.  Be confident that he will be Quarterbacking the Steelers for many years to come and will consistently put up decent numbers, just do not expect any top 5 seasons from him.
